Launceston Buddhist Community: Universal Deity Day

Universal Deity Day - Thursday July 2nd, 10 am

Palpung Institute, 13-15 Bryan Street, Invermay.

Please note - we will meet at the Institute and then travel in convoy to Drys Bluff at the Liffey Mountainside for a Healing Fire or Sang Puja.  Venerable Choje Lama Sehrup and Ven. Lama Tsewang will conduct a Healing Fire (Sang) Puja and the raising of prayer flags.  The Sang Puja is a profound Vajrayana ritual which honours The Three Jewels, The Three Roots, the entire universe, all realms and local deities and enhances the peace and prosperity of the local environment and all its' inhabitants. The purpose of this practice is to swiftly purify negative karma through the offering of scent to all sentient beings, especially those who reside in the non-physical realms of existence. Guru Rinpoche is featured in prayers and mantras and dedications are made for the benefit of all sentient beings. This is an act of purification of body, speech and mind – all negative thoughts and actions. Offerings are made with the purest of intention, with utmost generosity.  Please wear appropriate warm clothing, wet weather gear and footwear.
